Torture Garden first opened its doors back in 1990 in Shepherds Bush, London and this year celebrates 18 years of fetish clubbing. In the 80’s and early 90’s Fetish & SM was still taboo and very underground, and even dressing in Rubber and going to a fetish club seemed a dangerous activity. As TG’s notoriety grew, so did the `shock & scandal’ reports in the tabloids, resulting in the Police frequently forcing venues to close events in 1991 – 1993, and the shadow of the Spanner Case also hung over the scene during the early 90’s. The first event caused quite a stir – there had never really been any club like it. Many have described their first experience of entering a TG event as like stepping into another world. Like a scene from a film, a fantasy, it can be anything that you want it to be.

A beloved slave gave me a copy of The Book of Revelation by Rupert Thomson – the story of a man captued by three women whose faces he never sees as they are always masked. Their treatment of him I think is quite an accurate portrayal of female sexual sadism. He is kept tethered by a chain attached to a ring they have put through his cock and on one occasion is (as he is a ballet dancer) made to dance for the women and other masked guests. Another time he is fucked with a strap on, while the woman in question repeats over and over “cunt, cunt, cunt”. I have always fantasized with the idea of capturing a man, breaking him slowly and then forcing him to become my slave.
So, driven by my own fantasies and hopefully in homage to the Book of Revelation, I made the alternative femdom film Queen Takes Pawn. This film is less about the actualities of the tortures scenes but about the psychological domination of a man leading to the destruction of his sense of self. In my version, two women have captured a man – one tortures him while the other enjoys filming the abuse with her camcorder. The film you are watching is supposedly the actual footage (like the Blair Witch Project). Your hear the voice but never see the face of the female voyeur. And in true ‘life imitating art, imitating life’ I had a dominant woman friend film the movie that did get off on recording the action as it takes place. Well we were there to enjoy ourselves!
The key to the film was the idea that these women document everything they do to this man like it’s some kind of experiment. I liked the humiliation he must feel never knowing who gets to see those films, at one point it is hinted that they show them to other female friends. I also wanted the footage to look as real as possible, that if someone found this tape, they might think it was real footage. He is kept dru*ged as a means of keeping him subdued and pain is applied over a number of weeks in order to break him to their will. It is also plain that these women have probably done this before but unlike the character in the book he has seen their faces – will he become so broken that he becomes a full time slave and allowed out of his chains or do they plan to somehow dispose of their victim? I guess that for me, enacting scenes outside of the confines of an actual dungeon gives realism to the domination. This is something that turns me on and often features in my personal fantasies.
