The Fault in Our Stars
Was it innate or learned my femdom predilection?  I feel those desires were always there – but putting feelings to one side and with some consideration; I am most likely a product of a unique juncture of historical events.

Perhaps I should explain: You see, I was born as a subject of a Queen and have been my entire life.  In fact, you would need to be over 70 years old to have any real memory of a King*.  And, she’s still there and long may she reign over us. Being born in the ’70s my first notion of politics came from a female Prime Minister (1979-1990) and I think we’d all agree, quite a formidable one.  I was brought up by a, not so common place then, single parent mother, another indomitable woman – there was no football or action movies in our house.  I’ve always said I should get a T-shirt printed: If you think I’m Dom you should meet my mother!

Servalan in Action

Briefly as a child I lived in Northern Spain looked after by Basque women.  The Basque culture has a long history of strong woman, equality & matrilineality.  While Blake’s 7 (a popular ’70s UK sci-fi show) made quite an impression on me with its cruel all-powerful villainess Servalan, who claimed “power was her lover”.  A radical part for a woman at the time and quite a role model for any budding dominatrix.

I was taught by nuns who were highly educated, lived in a female-only community and were utterly sadistic.  My life opportunities have been undoubtedly shaped by Emmeline Pankhurst and I, like much of the globe, live in the long, long shadow of Queen Victoria.

Ergo for me, women were brilliant, formidable, educated, sexually aggressive, didn’t rely on men and ruled the world! How could I not turn out Dom?

Throughout the entire history of civilisation I don’t think many woman could claim this – I’m at a unique pinnacle point… and hopefully an unstoppable sea change.

Perhaps though my desires were innate, they did lie within me but without being born at this time, in this place, they would never have had the opportunity to be manifested and then developed.  (And, I’ve certainly had a lot of fun with the developing part 🙂 )

Thank you Great Mothers may I spawn forth your seed into the word.

* In the last 465 years (since 1553) Queens have ruled England for over 200 of them.

I love this. It reminds me of Malcolm Gladwell’s book “Outliers” which dissects why some people are successful. One of his points is being born in the right place at the right time. Another is upbringing.
Everything that has happened has made you the amazing person that you are today & I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know you. I look forward to learning more. *muah!*

  2. Stuart says:

Very literary. I think there is a novel burning to get out of you. Some kind of whip-cracking version of Moll Flanders perhaps.

Your adoption of the Latin terminology reminded me of the Honored Matres from the Dune universe. They are a Matriarchal group described as ” an aggressive cult obsessed with power, violence, and sexual domination.”

And who can forget the wonderful Servalan, the archetypal space dominatrix. It’s just a shame they kept dressing her up as Shirley Bassey.

The other great Space Dominatrix from the early 80s has to be Diana from the Sci-Fi series V. Like Servalan (Jacqueline Pierce), the actress (Jane Badler) was well aware of the kinky dominatrix nature of the character and that no doubt fed into the performance. For example, when addressing subordinates, she would often tilt her head back slightly and look down as if they were much shorter than her.

    • No one would believe me if I wrote it all down 😉

      & in Blake’s 7 the wobbly cardboard sets didn’t help either 🙂

      • Nick from New Zealand says:

I most certainly would believe you!
Yes, I hope one day you will write your memoirs or at least have a go at a novel. You are obviously articulate and have a gift with words!

Diana in “V” had a memorable effect on me too :-)!

Interesting and entertaining, Mistress Sidonia, including the female strength element of Basque culture. Goddess and I were told about this a few years ago by a lady from that region, a believer in and practitioner of Female Domination.

I do feel compelled to state, although naturally on my knees and obediently bowing my head before your leather booted legs :-), that the term “formidable” is the only polite and remotely complimentary word I would ever be willing to use in connection with “that” prime minister!

Purely out of interest (and for the sake of amusement too ;-)), I recall someone (a journalist perhaps) describing her, whilst she was in office, as a sort of dominatrix! I know what was meant in terms of her undeniable authority but what an otherwise dreadful exponent of Female Superiority! Her clientele would have been extremely limited! Also, a prime minister predecessor of hers, from the same party but publicly very critical of her policies (can you guess who?), had nonetheless allegedly called her “sexy” after dancing with her at some ball. Oh, the insanity of some men!

How you achieved it aside, thank you for the “developing”, Mistress!

    And Happy New Year!

  4. bootslavewilliam says:

Another anecdotal recollection about “that” PM!… “He never stops! Quick! Strap his hands down to prevent him typing anymore… and rubber hood and ball gag him for good measure!”

OK… Who can forget the puppet of her in the very funny eighties “Spitting Image” TV series, in which she became increasingly more male and Churchillian (including the iconic cigar), an image which culminated eventually, in at least one sketch, in her relieving herself at a urinal in the House of Commons alongside some of her cowering male ministers (sheepish, apprehensive and, yes, arguably even submissive to their erstwhile female ruler)?! I am pretty sure they were portrayed as feeling visibly all the more inferior after proving themselves seemingly unable to avoid sneaking a peak at her predictably superior “equipment down below”!

At least politics were more interesting and controversial in those days!

  5. Barrie says:

Now I can understand why you have become the Goddess you truly are, and I enjoyed being a member the English mansion so much it changed my life forever, ( sorry Mistress, If you are reading this, I know you are a big fan, but you are the only one for me, UNFORTUNATELY FOR YOU as I will never see myself as being worthy to serve you ) . I to remember Mrs Thatcher. As I stood a 12 year old boy with my grandfather and father on the miners picket lines, the brutality of the police she sent out against men striking for their livelihoods and at the time I must admit,I hated the very sight of her. However I took no joy in her death or attended street parties as others did, Due to the fact I watched many of those men dying, horrible and torturous deaths due to lung conditions, something which no longer happens because of the different job market Mrs T created, knowing the plans she had for the future of Wales, ones which didn’t come fully to fruition, mainly due to the lilly livered men who took up her role after her ousting, I have to be honest and say, the world at present, given the state of it, could really use the backbone of a strong lady like her or YOU! for that matter. The prime minister we have at present is not even a poor imitation of what Mrs Thatcher was, lets face it the man’s a muppet. Perhaps you should try your hand at politics Mistress Sidonia, its about time someone cracked the whip and got those ministers quaking in the toilets again !

    • It pleases me that you serve me from afar.

I try not to broach religion or politics here on this blog or on my twitter page, quite deliberately, as I feel The Mansion should provide respite from the world. A real-life fantasy (if you can forgive that oxymoron) femdom world that we can all visit in our minds and indulge ourselves. But, I will agree that Mrs. T was a formidable and terrifying figure who certainly also left a huge impression on my psyche.

      • bootslavewilliam says:

We certainly all need respite from this far too often depressing vanilla world, that’s sure.

Being permitted to serve you in person one day, Mistress, is a truly exciting, and without a doubt nerve-wracking, prospect I can but hope for and contemplate in my slutty mind. Nonetheless, in preparation for such an honour, I hereby undertake to keep politics totally off the “agenda”… even if you decided not to gag me firmly the instant you took control of me!

  6. Barrie says:

Hello Mistress Sidonia, What was I thinking? I must apologise for my idiocy, The English Mansion is clearly not the place for my take on the world, but in my defence, I am but a man and you of all people know that most of us still have heads full of the primordial soup that spawned all us simple MALE! lifeforms. As a submissive male lifeform, I know, I have no right to ask anything of you, so I drop to my knees and beg for mercy in the hope you will find it within you to delete my past ramblings from the wonderful world you have created for all to enjoy. I promise, hand on heart, to confess my stupidity to my Mistress who is a big fan of yours and you may rest assured Mistress will SEVERELY! beat my balls, AGAIN! as Mistress is used to my dumb-ass ways, though on this occasion, they may well end up in a glass jar on a shelf somewhere, if in her mind I caused you any offence. Barrie
