It was Mistress Evilyne who brought my attention to these adorable – cute, kitsch and wonderfully subversive ceramics. Objet d’arts – some with very practical applications: candle & incense holders, mugs and… well who wouldn’t want a butt-plug vase. There’s definitely a nod to Jeff Koons and guerrilla artist Richard Ankrom here.

Pansy Ass is the work of  Canadian, Toronto based Kris Aaron and Andrew Walker. Together they explore gay male culture through the medium of porcelain ornamentation juxtaposing it with Granny’s traditional favourite china. They have exhibited some amazing work at exhibitions but here I’ve only featured items from their on-line store, many very reasonably priced. Check out their website here.
