After spending the night of solitary in the outside cell, he shows no sign of remorse, so he is lead into the punishment room, strapped to the inverted board and caned and whipped, including a mean thigh caning, until his attitude is adjusted. To further reinforce his correction, the prisoner is then taken back outside and receives a thorough back whipping and cold hose down from the guards until he is a fully broken, humble and begging for mercy.
